Smart Speakers ( Echo/ Google Home) - Assistive Technology tools?

What uses that are assistive do you put them to do?
Hi Myles, interesting post.
I would say they are forms of assistive tech. They offer speech recognition and respond to commands in a similar to a lot of assistive tech today.
It would be interesting to know if they have or will find a place in the workplace. There might be some developments required to integrate Echo etc. into organisations systems but it does seem a possibility.

It would be interesting Jamie to see if there is a role for smart speakers in the workplace. Particularly for the blind and visually impaired but alongside other tools such as iPhone and Dragon Dictate Individual Professional which do the task smart speakers cannot do. More detailed searches. One day combining more sophisticated speech recognition tools with smart speaker capability.
